Frequently Asked Questions

We know stepping into something new can come with a lot of questions—so we’ve gathered some thoughtful answers to help you feel right at home.

What is JoyBabe, exactly?

JoyBabe is a modern parenthood studio offering classes, movement, play space, and community—all under one roof. Whether you’re preparing for birth, navigating the early postpartum months, or simply looking for a safe and beautiful space to connect, we’re here to support you through it all.

Who is JoyBabe for?

We support families in the early years of parenthood—expecting parents, new mamas, partners, grandparents, and caregivers with littles from birth to around age 6. If you're looking for connection, quality programming, or a space to exhale—we’re here for you.

Can I come if I'm not a member?

Yes! You’re welcome to drop in for many of our offerings—like movement classes, open play, and JoyClub sessions. Memberships* and bundles are available for families who plan to come regularly and want to save, but they’re not required.

*Memberships are coming later in 2025

What age group is your space designed for?

Most of our offerings are tailored for babies, toddlers, and preschool-aged children (newborn through age 6). Our classes for grown-ups (and grandparents!) are designed to support parents during pregnancy, postpartum, and early family life.

Do you offer anything for expecting parents?

Yes! Our Expecting Joy series is a 6-week prenatal learning circle for expecting mamas and their support partners. We also offer movement classes that are pregnancy-safe, plus plenty of community support during this big transition.

What is BabeWatch?

BabeWatch is our onsite childcare service—available during select classes, movement sessions, and JoyClub hours. It gives parents the freedom to care for themselves, while we care for their little one nearby in a safe, loving environment.

What’s the difference between JoyClub, Open Play, and Classes?

Great question!
  • Open Play is for your little one to explore, move, and connect in our beautiful studio space with you / their trusted caretaker by their side.
  • JoyClub is for you. It’s a weekly two-hour mama /caregiver reset with onsite quality care for your babe—so you can journal, rest, catch up with a friend, or just breathe. JoyClub will be launching later in 2025.

Classes (like Learning Circles and Movement) are guided experiences designed to support your body, mind, and heart in this season.

Can I bring more than one child?

Yes, absolutely! We love siblings. Our offerings are family-friendly, and we offer sibling discounts.

Do you offer events or birthday parties?

This is where we shine! Our space is available for private event rentals—perfect for babe showers, birthdays, and other joyful gatherings. You can see our Celebrations page for details.

Where are you located and is there parking?

We are located right off of the 8 freeway at 5208 Jackson Dr Suite 115, La Mesa, CA 91941. Parking is free and plentiful with easy stroller access. You’ll receive all the details when you book or register.

What should I bring to a class or visit?

Just yourselves and anything your little one might need for comfort (diapers, water, snacks, etc.). We’ll handle the rest and we always have extra of everything in case you need it! You’ll receive a welcome email with specifics before your first visit.

Is there a place to eat or take a break?

Yes! We have a quaint café area where you’re welcome to enjoy snacks or meals from home—or grab something onsite. We offer a curated selection of drinks, snacks, and light meal options for purchase. Whether you’re fueling up after a class or catching your breath during Open Play, we’ve got you covered, Babe.
